USDC is coming to Alpen, alongside CCTP (Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol). Circle-issued USDC will be available as a dollar stablecoin for lending and trading applications built around native BTC.
Alpen uses zero-knowledge verification to bring financial applications to Bitcoin, allowing developers to build EVM-compatible lending, borrowing and trading around native BTC with Bitcoin as the source of truth. USDC provides the dollar-denominated asset those markets need for pricing, liquidity and settlement.
Dollar-denominated markets around BTC have typically relied on bridged or synthetic stablecoins, or on moving BTC to another chain where a suitable dollar stablecoin already exists. Each route adds exposure that sits outside the loan or trade itself, whether that's bridge security, wrapper contract risk or redemption through an intermediary.
USDC on Alpen will be issued by regulated affiliates of Circle, the same dollar from the same stablecoin as everywhere else native USDC circulates. CCTP connects Alpen to other CCTP-supported networks, so USDC can move between them without a wrapped representation. Alpen and Circle are not affiliates; they are commercial partners.
For wallets, custodians and financial platforms, this opens a direct route to offering BTC-backed borrowing, interest-bearing products and trading while BTC stays on Bitcoin. Treasury, settlement and reconciliation on Alpen work the same way they do on any other network where native USDC is supported.
USDC and CCTP will be available when Alpen mainnet launches.
